The problem
And a chatbot alone will not tell you what to learn next. You deserve a plan that is built for the Portuguese you will hear on the street, at the bank and at the doctor.

Complete beginners start at A1. If you already know some Portuguese, a short placement check finds your unit. The check is free and does not use a daily lesson.
The next lesson is always the next unit on the path.
How it works
Say why you are learning, then start as a beginner or take the placement check.
About 10 minutes. Listening scenes, reading, pronunciation pairs and verb tables. The daily goal is one lesson.
Review brings words back. A streak day is a day you finish a lesson. You can hold 2 freezes.

Finish one lesson to keep the day. Hold up to 2 freezes. Lessons you have downloaded work without a connection.

FAQ
The short version of what people ask before they start.
Yes, and only European Portuguese (pt-PT), the Portuguese spoken in Portugal, Madeira and the Azores. Vocabulary, grammar, spelling and audio all follow that standard, so you learn “tu”, “autocarro” and “estou a fazer”.
For permanent residence, Portuguese law asks for proof of A2 level Portuguese, for example a CIPLE certificate or a recognised A2 course. Rules and accepted proofs can change and depend on your situation, so always confirm with AIMA or a qualified adviser. Portuglot teaches the A2 level, but it is not legal advice and does not issue official certificates.
Portuguese nationality now requires A2 Portuguese plus knowledge of Portuguese culture, history and civics. The Portuguese authorities set the exact requirements, and we are not making promises about the culture part until the official format is published. What we can do today is teach you the A2 language level.
No. The course starts at A1 with your first “bom dia”, and it is built for people whose base language is English. If you already know some Portuguese, a quick level check will point you to the right starting place.
